The equipment behind the work.
Air-free synthesis, pressurized copolymerization and full polymer characterization are carried out in the group's laboratory in the Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras.
Schlenk line
Vacuum and inert-gas manifold for air-free synthesis, solvent transfer and distillation.
High-pressure reactor
Stirred autoclave with temperature and pressure control, used for CO₂ copolymerization and pressurized reactions.
Gel permeation chromatography (GPC)
Waters GPC system with a 2414 refractive index detector and manual injector, used to determine molecular weight and dispersity of the polymers made in the group.
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
Waters HPLC with a 515 pump and 2489 UV/Visible detector, used for purity analysis and to follow monomer conversion.
Rotary evaporator
Rotary evaporator with recirculating chiller for solvent removal and product isolation.
Fume hood
Fume hood fitted for air-sensitive manipulations and routine synthetic work.
Reagent cold storage
Refrigerated storage for temperature-sensitive reagents, monomers and catalysts.
